5 2025 WU BBE entrance exam maths tasks on topics hidden by WU explained here (made based on feedback from 2025 students)

Around the end of May 2026, WU has decided to officially publish 8 out of 13 maths tasks from the actual 2025 WU BBE entrance exam, which were of great help to all WU applicants (they can be found here: https://www.wu.ac.at/fileadmin/wu/h/programs/bachelor/bbe/Aufnahmeverfahren/BBE_Practice_Problems_Mathematics.pdf) and some of my students were texting me that the tasks in my WU BBE prep course (bbe-exam.com) are harder than the ones posted by WU (which of course made me very happy that my students can easily solve these tasks after I study-bully them with hard questions, for their own good ahah!) and this comment/reaction has 2 reasons:

1. I create tasks that test the same skills that WU has tested throughout the years, based on the 2021-2025 students' feedback. But what I like to do is turn the difficulty of them up a notch to equal out the "no stress at home" environment vs "a lot of stress at Messe Wien" environment, as the time it would take you to solve a slightly more difficult task when you are at home and not under intense stress and pressure will more or less equal out to the time it would take you to solve a slightly easier task under more stressful in-person WU BBE entrance exam conditions

2. Another important reason for this impression is that WU did not publish the other 5 tasks ;) which are subjectively (as each student has different topics they find easier/more challenging) more difficult than the ones that were posted

   The topics that were left out by WU were:

   1. Elementary financial mathematics (which had a long text description)

   2. Linear and quadratic equations (this was one of the rare non-text-based exercises in 2025)

   3. Polynomial functions (where you had to be creative and work with what's given)

   4. Differentiation and single variable optimization (long description & system of equations for different cases)

   5. Elementary probability (with a 3-level tree diagram of events that you would need to carefully construct)

And since it is crucial to have a complete and full overview of the task formats & difficulty levels for efficient WU BBE entrance exam preparation, I decided to put in the extra work for you and created 5 tasks on the 5 unpublished-by-WU topics based on my 2025 students' feedback to show you that there will be both, relatively nice and easy tasks and relative hard and not so nice tasks :D

You can print them and solve them using pen&paper, an allowed calculator (to already get used to it now), and the official WU maths formula sheet (https://www.wu.ac.at/fileadmin/wu/h/structure/servicecenters/studieninfo/Aufnahmeverfahren/Formula_Sheet_BBE_2026.pdf), which will be provided to you on the WU BBE entrance exam 2026 (and as you can see, it will not help you solve a whole task as the tasks test critical thinking skills & knowing how to approach a task with the given info in the conditions, so please do not count on the formula sheet to help you solve the whole maths part and still study beforehand!)
